Our Story
Quarton Payroll was born from a combination of Yorkshire determination, family legacy, and a passion for people. Founder Gemma Quarton began her career in administration and customer service, working across various office-based roles before finding her calling in payroll. When her father - a respected tax advisor with over 40 years of experience - suggested she help one of his clients, she took on the challenge with self-taught dedication, YouTube tutorials, and a willingness to learn from the ground up.
That single act of curiosity became a career and what followed was formal education supported by several years of experience supporting multiple clients which eventually led to the launch of Quarton Payroll in 2021. The business was built on the belief that numbers tell stories - stories of people, families, and hard work.
Today, Quarton Payroll continues that legacy: a Yorkshire-based business with a national reach, driven by a desire to do things properly, personally, and with pride.
Our Mission is to take the stress and complexity out of payroll for small and medium-sized businesses - delivering reliable, friendly, and flexible support that helps employers take care of their teams.
